Okay guys, you are probably all sick of seeing these. But, please realize that people are actually insecure, ADHD, ADD, Bipolar, trans (and any other gender identification), suicidal, depressed, and have any other disorder. They aren’t fun. I am insecure, ADHD, and I can go through stages of depression. I don’t look into the rps much, but a lot of other people on this site do, and it sets a trigger that can cause what ever is going on to get worse.

Say you lost someone in a car crash, would you want to be role playing with someone who always brings up car crashes. No, you wouldn’t, because it’s a traumatic experience to deal with. I have been through it. I lost my 15 year old cousin in a car crash as he was coming down to visit me. I almost lost my grandma in that same crash due to a drunk driver. That was almost 5 years ago and it is still extremely hard. I can look at his pictures still and bawl my eyes out. I can cry myself to sleep from looking at the pictures because he was like a brother to me. I also almost lost my mom to a car crash 3 years ago and now she is needing neck and back surgery due to bulging disks that will cause a ton of pain later, and already is.

What about getting shot? Well yeah that happens in rl as well, but people have been shot even in their neighborhood. People have lost family or friends who were shot either on the streets or in war. Watch “Freedom Writers” as it’s a true story based on a divided school and the stories the kids went through on a daily basis.

How do you know that someone you are roleplaying with isn’t going through those situations? How do you know if that’s a trigger for that person?

Just like role playing cancer. I can understand if you are trying to get people to understand it, but if you are doing it for attention then don’t. My grandma had breast cancer, my next door neighbor who I grew up with just went into remission for Leukemia, and someone in my own grade fought and won the battle against Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. If I rp it it’s for people to understand it, not for attention.

You don’t always have to add tragic events to your rp. I can get every once in a while with like an injury or something that isn’t trigger related in an rp as it keeps some of the rp’s real, but having every rp start with a tragic event is too much. Honestly step into a person who is in that situation’s shoe and see what it would be like in real life before you post it, or ask them if it’s fine for you to do an rp with something tragic, but not enough to cause anyone who reads it to get peeved off or having a moment due to a trigger. If you do ask and they respond with a “no”, then don’t do it. If you ask and they respond with a “yes you can”. Then keep both posts while you rp it so that people going onto your white board to rp know that the person is fine with the rp. Maybe put a warning before you post so people realize if there will be some tragic events on a rp.

Yeah I am. Sorry was a little busy lately, and when I was on I went onto the Greek Houses. I was making it an all day event so that people can come and go as they please and because all the time zones are scattered. I thought it would be easier that way, unless you think there should be a set time for the party? But we would need to give all time zones as I know a lot of people don’t pay attention to the AU time if they are off of AU.

do you guys even understand how serious car accidents are? and you choose to rp them for fun to make it interesting? what about well developed characters with cool interests and talents? what if they’re from far away lands and can take you to a magical dragon’s lair?

There is something on AU that has really been bothering me. I have tried to talk to the people who are doing this but they won’t respond and just delete what I say. I have tried to see if they will change, but it has been too long and I’ve personally had enough.

People keep posting things on their WB like “The abused girl! The hated girl! The insecure girl!” and it just makes me feel… down. AU used to be so positive and people are really turning this website into the opposite. The do it just to get attention from the other sex and, since it is mostly girls who are doing it, kinda spreads the stereotype that guys are flirty, shy, and ‘perfect’ and all girls are insecure and sad, which means the guys have to ‘save’ the girl and somehow make her problems ‘go away’. It isn’t a good message to some of the younger members of AU.

I have an album here to show you some examples. I didn’t link you anyone in particular, because there are so many people doing it. I was wondering if instead you could make a blog about it or send out a mass message or something? If you really want me to, I can link some people.

Hello Augie. I am so excited. My owner is signing up for her school talent show

I don’t know what kind of music you all listen to. But, can you guys watch this? Or, at least the beginning and end, you can read the lyrics here and here (there are two songs in the video) but there’s a message in the beginning and end that is important. Please, spread it around if you can. There are possible trigger warnings, but this has helped several people I know, including myself.

Just a So Relatable Moment for you today

I actually love it Augie! I think lizards, especially ones like Komodo Dragons, are adorable! They’re fierce but I like to see them as cute and magnifanct, not creepy or scary. My owner wants to work with reptiles like the Komodo Dragon when he grows up, so he really takes a liking to them. It’s his dream to actually go to the Komodo islands.
